From winter ghost town to freeride destination.
(Overview)
BEDI tells the story of Bakhmaro, a Georgian mountain village once largely deserted in winter that has become a gathering place for freeriders. With the help of Ingo and a catski operation, the snowy months have taken on a new rhythm. Our documentary looks at that transformation through Jorge Abian’s return to a place he encountered early in its freeriding story.

Ingo, a snowcat and a new winter chapter.
(The Change)
The catski operation helped open Bakhmaro’s surrounding terrain to visiting skiers and snowboarders. Ingo’s involvement is central to this chapter of the village’s revival, connecting the possibilities of the mountains with a reason for people to spend time here in winter. What had felt like a ghost town began to develop a winter life around freeriding.

(Then & Now)
Jorge Abian was among the early visitors to Bakhmaro as a freeride destination. Returning after its development, he brings that earlier experience into conversation with the place it has become. BEDI follows this return as a way to understand the change: the growing interest in the terrain, the life around the catski operation and the people behind it.
